This is gonna start out a little slow. Like. Really slow. Because I woke up after that party that I already described. It was pretty hectic. You should have been there. Anyway, wake up on the floor mattress. Awesome, it’s better than my bed at home. Then again, the floor would have been better than my bed at home.
After waking up, and breakfast (breakfast should be read as a bottle of sunkist) which was shared among those who I deemed lucky enough, the driver wakes up. Korovashya, the poor driver, looked worse sober than he did drunk. I still can’t tell how much of that was morning.face or hanger.face but in either case, it was bad.
“Let’s go,” he says. He’s been awake for close to 10 minutes and he’s keen to go. Holy crap. After taking my time to put on shoes so that he wakes up enough for me and the other guest to survive the drive home. We drive, she sleeps, and Koro and I are very quiet. Not much to say. Plus hangover. Not bad, but enough of a distraction.
Get home, and I expect people. Someone to distract me. Instead the damn place is empty. For no reason. I expected there to be two, maybe one person here but no. Was kind of nice I suppose. Get to eat in peace. Can talk to my ex without worrying that people are reading over my shoulder. It was nice. Get to watch some funny TV and enjoy a quiet meal, which in this house does not happen. My brothers are always at odds.
As I head upstairs to get online properly, not through my phone, the younger of my brothers gets home. Then Mum. Then the other brother. From empty to three bonus people. God damn.
At least I still have my internet. Bum around there for a while. Talk about borrowing the car so I can go out tonight for my mates birthday (again. Yeah, he gets two parties). This goes on until like… 6pm. Then everyone leaves again. For soccer or dinner or something. Meh, gives me time to shower and clean the orange off my balls before I go out again.
Sweet. After arguing with myself about putting together a new CD for the car, brushing teeth, etc it’s suddenly 7pm. This is slightly awkward. Mostly because the party is supposed to start at 7.45. It takes me more time to get ready properly. I get in the car at 7:15. I know for a fact it takes 45 minutes to drive there.
With music blaring, and engine… easing forward because it isn’t mine and I can’t break it I make steady progress to, you guessed it, Hooters. I didn’t really know what to expect other than tits and beer (both of which I am not allowed to partake in because I had to drive home). Turns out, that this american food chain, is quite american. American music with american decorations and american football on the TVs around the place.
After everyone gets there, it takes another hour before we get a whole heap of chicken wings out. 50 of the damn things. for only 5 people eating them. That was all the food I needed there. And they were covered in oil. So much oil. I hate getting my hands dirty. I only used 3 fingers on each hand to keep it to a minimum. I failed. Now I had america all over me. But after they were devoured more food comes out because that was just to start us off. My stomach is not that big! I can’t eat your american sized meals!
Meal gets finished in due time. Everyone has a laugh and a good time, far as I can tell. Birthday boy gets his cake. With pretty flowers and butterflies. Suits his personality perfectly. After people don’t get too into the cake, mostly because of all the food before, we pack it up and start to leave. Many hugs goodbye (I got everyone except for like 3 of you, I will make up for that) and then I was off home again.
Loud music once more fills my ears and I made it home in one piece after several delays due to roadwork. I swear, it’s like they cut off half the highway, and had 3 people working on the entire stretch of it. Why guys? Why? You don’t need to section of such a large area. I get it, cars are big, heavy and don’t stop easily, but it’s not necessary for you to have an acre between you and it.
It was a good night out. I’d do it again.
